Planning Submitted for Crystal Palace Apartments

< Back

A scheme compromising of 9 new high-quality apartments that exceed the London Plan space standards, with generous balconies, terraces and communal gardens has been submitted for planning within Lewisham.

A long-standing property developer for Pinchin Architects looked at redeveloping a site that overlooked Crystal Palace Park in a contextual but contemporary style. With the site being in close proximity to the listed park and also to some listed Victorian villas, the new build proposal was designed to look present but also to work within an established and high-quality context.

The use of high-quality materials including a yellow stock brick, a zinc roof, and projecting stone detailing allow the scheme to sit comfortably within the existing streetscape, positively contributing to the surrounding area.

Retention and enhancement of the landscaping both in front and behind the property were very important to ensure that the existing streetscape is enhanced and protected.
